I cycled near Alcolea del Rio, Spain, and saw a solarpanel-field, which was a long while ago. And I realised that I hardly ever, actually really never, saw nor see private solarpanels in Morocco, Portugal ands Spain.

Introduction

In the Netherlands this is a completely different situation. Prices of gas and electricity are now skyhigh in the western-european countries. But heating your house is mandatory, for at least 8 months per year day and night.

The Nl has to stop as soon as possible with pumping up (out) it's national gas because doing that for 50+ years now causes earthquakes that made already 1000-nds of houses to crack (!!!). Besides that the Ukraine-war of PoetOut has caused a ban on importing russian "whatever".

Extra (huge) problem is the agricultural mis-situation in the Nl. It's farmers produce 4 times more meat then needed in the Nl and they export 75% of all to countries where they can make more money. So they export the meat, Not the shit ! They even export most of there highest quality eggs and the foodindustry then imports low quality eggs. Result is a disastrous situation concerning nature. Although they are not the only cause. The industry, all the traffic and as many buildings as possible must downsize their energyconsumption by some 40% within few years.

Some 40,000 people, 650,000 pigs and 4.2 million chickens live in the municipality of Venray in the Nl. What do you think this does to Your air quality? Thanks to the Nl livestock (100 million chickens !) They Are the largest poop producer in the world. In another town a businessman succeeded to have an extra permission to produce pigs. His factory is now allowed to have 125.000 (!!!) pigs to raise. Politicians were " shocked", as they always are, but they themselfs cause these situations. Just because they are opti-mis-ts.

In the Netherlands there is always the hallelujah-message about solarpanels

"More and More people have installed them", "they" say. Which is for sure true since no people remove them. But they "count peanuts" in the overall energy-situation, and they even "count half peanuts" after dark ... And they know that.

The general way of hyping the solarenergy-aspect is that all media (the "government") (only) mean that hallelujah within only the private situation . They are so "clever" NOT to tell you about that, which is the general way to Not Lie. And they know that, it is in fact Case 1 in the "How to be elected" course. All The Industry (and a whole lot more) is Not taken into account in this mis-information. Not that onshore, nor that offshore and at sea nor that in the air. Not. Next. Elections.

And by The Way : you think you know (the truth) about recycling ? Tip : there are some 200 types of plastics and Not Any 2 types can be mixed, except for when dumping. Tip : the Netherlands import garbage per ships and trucks from Great Brittain to make their garbage-burning-plants produce (more) steam more "efficient". Which steam is used to produce electricity. Green electricity ? Greenwashing ? Tip : Not Knowing is a Choice ...

All-in-all the energy-consumption is raising, not lowering. And here and now we (finally ...) come to the kernel of this article.

This is a picture showing a typical electrical connection to a house in a southern (dry) country. However the basics are universal all over the world, just the wheater (non-)protection is not. You can click it to see the maximum on details. But that longest arrow shows what solarpanels (try to) do : pushing upstream. They Do help generating energy but they can not compete with the superstrong original supply. Which means they will only be of help within there (very local) electrical island . And that island is formed by that one (!) e-transformer, somewhere in your suburban area.

Besides1 that, electrical energy can only be used inside that same electrical island. It is not possible to upload electricity through a transformer if there is a more powerfull supply upstream already. And there always is. Ofcourse there is.

Highvoltage wires running to a transformer somewhere. There are three phase-wires and the voltage might be something like 20kVac or 10KVac. One system also has a neutral wire which is sometimes necessary for specific reasons (which are beyond this article).

This is how such an electrical island looks like schematically : three phases of each ie 10.000Vac, each on their own transforming down to the general 400Vac (between each 2 phases) and (so ...) 230Vac compared to the neutral (central) Vac wire.

And (but) it is even More Worse *. Then as you might ever have heard all electrical powersystems in the world are of the 3-phase ac-type, where ac means alternating (voltage) current. That is oke, no problem here. But as the word says there are 3 phases and that are Separated Systems. Even each 1-phase system is an isolated island . However *, more modern solarpanels-regulators can distribute their 1-phase energy to more phases. If (!) that building has more phases connected to the mainsystem (grid) anyway.

All-in-all, locally generated electricity will (can) only be used by local consumers. Charging and supplying ie your neighbours car, ebike and tv will not happen if the neighbours car and ebike are not there (and connected ...). Nor if that tv is switch off (which it should be anyway). Or if their house is not connected to the same phase(s) as your solarpanel-system-regulator. Or your solarpanel-regulator is not connected to the same phase(s) as your house.

Electricity is just as simple as that the rest. You can not push your own gas Up beyond the local (1st) gasstation (that ofcourse is running), you can not push your own wellwater beyond the local (1st) waterstation (that is running) and you also can not push your own electrons beyond any local (1st) transformer (that is running, so has a much higher voltage upstream, so primary, as the word says).

Your brain needs an example ? Drill your own waterwell, buy a pump (running at your solarpanels ...) and Push your surpluss wellwater INTO the crane. Remark : watersupplies have a minimumpressure of maybe 1bar downstream in your house and a maximumpressure of only maybe 16bar high upstream. Which is a factor 16. Electricitysystems run up to (down from) 400.000Vac which is a factor 1000x more then in your house. So keep on pushing.

The only usefull trick is to have a local E-Storage, so a battery. A battery that has to be within your electral island. The sun shines when you are not at home and it does not shine when you are yes at home. "Use all your equipment starting at noon when the sun shines" they say. HowTo ???

Pushing upstream ??? Euuhhh ....

Also the solarpanel "success" is overshadowed by the Fact that this extra generating (pushing) raises the local island-voltage (of 230Vac) so much that the electronical solarpanel-regulators (stabilisers) switch off (at 250VAc). Which they Must. That high voltage is caused by the "certain" coppersize of All cables in the world since they never were engineered to transport more then a certain amount of amperes (like ie 16amps).

At a higher voltage your tv, freezer, computer, microwave, gameplayer, lamps, router, heatingsystem, e-car-charger, mobilephone-charger, e-bike-charger and so on would DIE. And probably the solarpanels themself would die also. Depending on the quality of there electrical components, like the panels themselfs, there connectors and the cables.

The solarpanels are switched in series to raise the system-voltage and so to limit the current (and so the cable-copper-size *). So the single panelvoltage is multiplied. If the panels each produce ie 50VDC the systemvoltage at the end of the cable of panel 6 is +300Vdc.

As you might have heard of : P = U x I, which means Power = Voltage x Current. If you want more power you need a higher voltage and/or a higher current. A highere voltage needs a higher protection, so more isolation (plastics). A higher current needs more copper. And guess2 what is more expensive (in many ways) ?

And guess3 what ? In the dutch language "mis" means wrong. The optimists actually are the opti-wrongs but unfortunately they rule the world since they are with some many ... To save themselfs (...) they call realists negative.

So guess what1 ?

Saving the Planet ? Yes You can !!!
